King
Percy's right hand man, the one who wields
the executive power within the Kingdom, and
seems to run just about everything from the
Palace to the Customs Office to the Workhouse,
which inevitably brings him into regular contact
with Ivan. He is like the brick wall that
Ivan's careening E Type always manages to
crash into.
Despite several promotions, he remains at
heart the eternal Sergeant
Major - his only tools of communication being
bad grammar and bags
of volume. Early on in their marriage his
wife presumably bought some
ear plugs and learned how to live with him.
The Captain does things by the book: the level
of his heducation may
be questioned - his loyalty and devotion to
the King cannot.
