 The
DVD Cast: All about . . . Mr Scaramouche
Perched precariously on an outcrop of rock
a stone's throw from the Palace is a ramshackle
caravan - home to Mr Scaramouche, the Royal
Magician and Entertainer. This kindly old
man with his wispy beard and Ali Bongo hat
is always pining for his troubled homeland
- the war-torn country of Chezat from which
he has had to flee.
He is a cross between a down-market Merlin
and a Tommy Cooper style Night Club magician,
with a sideline in appalling
puns and shaggy-dog jokes which even he doesn't
understand.
Under normal circumstances he would be
accompanied by his
beautiful assistant, the Lovely Sharon,
but she is permanently
off sick, so he is aided by his dog, Doug.
Ivan
regards Mr S as too absent-minded and
preoccupied to be
worth bothering with, but his magic - while
apparently crass
and ineffective - demonstrates occasional
flashes of brilliance,
which may one day come in useful…
