The Innocent Cauliflower in the Royal Vegetable
Garden: Georgie is the archetypal local yokel:
honest, simple and kind. Though constantly
exposed to Ivan's
worldly wisdom Georgie remains unsullied,
and doesn't think twice about coming to Ivan's
aid when he happens upon him, bruised and
bleeding in the forest.
Georgie is basically a happy person, though
he "always gets sweaty
palms" when he has to go and see the
King.
Though you wouldn't
say he was stupid exactly, it must be admitted
that he is far from
bright, and he is bullied and taken advantage
of not only by Ivan
but also by his two intelligent and mischievous
GOATS, which are
always escaping and have somehow arranged
things so that when
Georgie gets out the goat cart, he
does the pulling while they ride
in comfort.
